Layered Ladye

This artwork presents two distinct sandstone specimens from Ladye Bay in the Bristol Channel, capturing the essence of sedimentary geology through their textured surfaces and varied colouration. The larger stone reveals a palette of earthy reds, browns, and muted yellows, interspersed with patches of green and grey, reflecting the mineral diversity typical of sandstone. Angular yet weathered, the stones exhibit visible layering and grain, hallmarks of their sedimentary origin. Accompanying the specimens are minimalist geometric shapes in muted burgundy and green, providing a subtle dialogue between natural form and abstract design.
